Supervision

ASIC is responsible for the supervision of real-time trading on Australia's domestic licensed markets.

ASIC’s supervision of markets involves a significant volume of data. Our suite of specialist technologies support our people to detect, understand and respond to activities in our dynamic financial markets.

We monitor compliance with the ASIC market integrity rules and use suspicious activity reports to conduct targeted surveillances of suspected market misconduct.

Our strategic priorities are published each year for the financial year ahead. These priorities are intended to help you assess your firm’s risk management framework as part of a robust review process, and focus your compliance, supervisory and risk management efforts.

If you have any queries relating to market integrity, behaviour and supervision, please contact us.

Industry funding

The way we fund the supervision of markets is changing. Under the new arrangements, you will receive an invoice for the regulatory services we have delivered in the previous year. Find out more about the changes to cost recovery.
