Natural disaster relief

ASIC realises that circumstances such as natural disasters may make it difficult for you to meet your lodgement obligations with ASIC.

If you are facing hardship or severe disruption as a result of a natural disaster (such as cyclone, flood, bushfire or drought) and are finding it difficult to pay fees, it may be possible to make arrangements with ASIC to take account of your situation.

We can review fees incurred as a result of matters outside your control. In some circumstances we may be able to waive fees or provide another way to manage the obligation.

You can apply online for ASIC to review your circumstances.

If you have lost your records, we may be able to help you to obtain ASIC documents and information from our registers.

Contact us and explain the situation:

  • through our website at www.asic.gov.au/question, or

  • by writing to us at:
    Australian Securities and Investments Commission
    PO Box 4000
    GIPPSLAND MAIL CENTRE VIC 3841

You will need to provide the following information to ASIC staff:

  • your name and contact details
  • your entity name and company, registration or licence number
  • details of your current situation
  • details of the records that have been lost and the documentation you need copies of.

An ASIC staff member will contact you to discuss your situation and how we can help.
