Remuneration disclosure for substantive executives and other highly paid staff

2017-18 annual disclosure

As a Commonwealth entity we provide an annual update on the remuneration paid to the executives in the agency. This disclosure is in addition to the information we report in our financial statements on key management personnel remuneration. Details for the 2017-18 reporting period are outlined in the tables below:

Notes to Table A

  1. This table is prepared on a cash basis. In 2017-18 there were 26 fortnightly pays (2016-17:26).
  2. This table reports substantive senior executives who received remuneration during the reporting period. Each row is an averaged figure based on headcount for the individuals in that band.
  3. 'Reportable salary' includes the following:
    1. gross payments (less any bonuses paid, which are separated out and disclosed in the 'bonus paid 'column);
    2. reportable fringe benefits (at the net amount prior to 'grossing up' for tax purposes);
    3. reportable employer superannuation contributions; and
    4. exempt foreign employment income.
  4. Various salary sacrifice arrangements were available to senior executives including superannuation, motor vehicle and expense payment fringe benefits. Salary sacrifice benefits are reported in the 'reportable salary' column.
  5. The 'contributed superannuation' amount is the average notional superannuation contributions paid to senior executives in that reportable remuneration band during the reporting period.
  6. Reportable allowances' are the average actual allowances paid as per the 'total allowances' line on individuals' payment summaries.
  7. 'Bonus paid' represents average actual bonuses paid during the reporting period in that reportable remuneration band. The 'bonus paid' within a particular band may vary between financial years due to various factors such as individuals commencing with or leaving ASIC during the financial year.
