Notices for publication

Notices for publication and related correspondence should be addressed to:

Notices that are received before closing times will be accepted for publication in the next available issue of the Gazette, unless otherwise specified.

All notices for publication must be:

  1. attached with a covering letter setting out requirements,
  2. a typewritten original or good copy of the typewritten original,
  3. wherever possible double-spaced, with a margin surrounding the typewritten matter,
  4. content is to be confined to one side of the paper; with sheets the same size (preferably A4),
  5. numbered consecutively and fastened securely together, and
  6. dates, proper names and signatures are to be shown clearly.

Copy will be returned unpublished if not submitted in accordance with these requirements.

Urgent publications outside of the normal Gazette schedule can be published as a Special Gazette and will incur a penalty for arrangements outside of the normal production schedule.

The deadline for Special Gazettes is 12.00 pm (AEST) on the day prior to publication.

Special Gazettes cost $236.40 per page to publish. Notices should follow the requirements as set out here.

Closing times

All notices close on Tuesday, at 10.00 am (AEST) in the week prior to publication.

Notices for publication should be lodged, by the following times (except at holiday periods for which special advice of earlier closing times will be given) unless otherwise specified.

Late notices are accepted up to Wednesday, 4.00 pm (AEST) in the week prior to publication and will incur a 50% surcharge on the normal fee in addition to the normal fee.

Withdrawal of notices

Withdrawal of notices prior to Tuesday, 10.00 am (AEST) in the week prior to publication will not incur any charges.

Late withdrawal of notices (after Tuesday 10.00 am (AEST) in the week before publication) will be accepted up to Wednesday, 4.00 pm (AEST) in the week before publication but will incur the normal fee as if the notice had been published.

Closing times are subject to change where Public Holidays will affect production of the Business Gazette. Variations to closing times will be notified in the Business Gazette in advance.

Private notices

The rates of charge and conditions applying to acceptance of copy for private notices are:

  • $63.80 (up to 125 words)
  • $13.20 for every 25 words thereafter.

The above prices are inclusive of GST.

Remittances must be forwarded with a copy of the notice for publication unless you have been approved as an account customer. Account customers must include a Customer Account Number and a Customer Reference Number on the lower left hand corner of each notice.

Account customers are reminded that payment is due immediately after receipt of invoice. If payment is not received within 21 days of the invoice date credit privileges will be withdrawn.

Notices received without payment or from account customers whose credit privileges have been withdrawn will be returned unpublished.

Cheques or money orders should be made payable to ASIC.

Corporations Act 2001 references

The Corporations Act 2001 came into force on 15 July 2001 replacing the Corporations Law. All references to the exercise of a power or the performance of a function under the Corporations legislation from 15 July 2001 should be to the 'Corporations Act 2001'.

Notices no longer published

Please note that from 1 July 2012 the following types of notices will no longer be published in the Business Gazette and you should lodge the notices through https://insolvencynotices.asic.gov.au.

  • Notice of appointment of liquidator - paragraph 491(2)(b)
  • Notice of meeting of creditors and members - subsection 509(2)
  • Notice of general meeting of members - subsection 509(2)
  • Notice of intention to declare dividend - subregulation 5.6.65(1)
